The handsome Angel from Lailah gets center stage in this continuation of Wattpad sensation Nikki Kelly’s romantic and action-packed series about mortals, vampires, and angels.

Gabriel is an Angel Descendant. He's also an ally to a generation of vampires who want to break away from the demon who controls them. His faith in the power of good over evil wavers, however, when he discovers that Lailah, the woman he considers his only true love, may be both angel and demon. Is their love enough to overcome the dark forces who are ready to go to war with Gabriel, the vampire Jonah, and the angel and vampire forces? And can Gabriel compete with Jonah, who is also in love with Lailah?

Once again, Nikki Kelly looks deeply into the heart and soul of good and evil to create a romantic, action-packed reading adventure.

I received a copy of this book for review, this does not influence my thoughts on the book or my review.

*Spoiler-free for the entire series*

As you all know, I’m a huge fan of the Styclar Saga and when I got my hands on Gabriel, I couldn’t resist! Gabriel definitely added on to everything from the first book (Lailah) and the plot was definitely twisty and definitely had more of what I liked.

Gabriel picks up almost immediately where Lailah left off, and each character is now faced with new challenges and more things to learn. The world of The Styclar Saga is one with both angels and vampires. These two beings, while unique, have’t been seen together in a novel and that’s what definitely makes The Styclar Saga unique. I loved how Nikki incorporated these beings together in a unique and awesome way.

One of my irks with Lailah was that the main character (appropriately named Lailah) barely had time to think for herself amongst the love triangle. In Gabriel, however, I finally felt that Lailah was becoming her own person and that she fully realized her potential. She let herself become the bad-ass she’s meant to be.

While the love triangle was not my favourite in Lailah, I really enjoyed how it got resolved in this book. While choosing between and Angel and a Vampire seems like a clear choice, I definitely enjoyed the complexities behind the decision.

The first half of Gabriel was a bit slow but damn, the 2nd half was just a pure roller coaster! By the end of the book, I just need to know: WHAT THE HECK HAPPENS NEXT?! *shakes fist at the heavens* *hopes an Arch Angel doesn’t come down and attacks me*  But in all seriousness, the plot was one twist after the next and I enjoyed every twisty bit of it.

Overall, I really enjoyed Gabriel and now I’m definitely excited to continue the series. If you’re a fan of swoony romance, unique beings and a cool premise, I highly recommend this series!
