Welcome to Miss Qiunzella Thiskwin Penniquiqul Thistle Crumpet’s Camp for Hardcore Lady Types. The five scouts of Roanoke cabin—Jo, April, Molly, Mal, and Ripley—love their summers at camp. They get to hang out with their best friends, earn Lumberjane scout badges, annoy their no-nonsense counselor Jen . . . and go on supernatural adventures. That last one? A pretty normal occurrence at Miss Qiunzella’s, where the woods contain endless mysteries.

Today is no exception. When challenge-loving April leads the girls on a hike up the TALLEST mountain they’ve ever seen, things don’t go quite as planned. For one, they didn’t expect to trespass into the lands of the ancient Cloud People, and did anyone happen to read those ominous signs some unknown person posted at the bottom of the mountain? Also, unicorns.

This hilarious, rollicking adventure series brings the beloved Lumberjanes characters into a novel format with brand-new adventures.

I received a copy of this book for review from the publisher. This does not influence my thoughts on this book or this review.

I’ve been a huge fan of the graphic novel series Lumberjanes so when I heard that there was an upcoming prose novel, I knew I’d have to read it. I’m not disappointed at all with this novel and I think it’s utterly perfect.

This prose novel focuses on our favourite Lumberjanes, April, Mal, Molly, Jo and Ripley, are off on another adventure! This time, they’re both looking to find unicorns and climb an undiscovered mountain. If you’re looking for a prose novel to continue your love of the series, you definitely won’t be disappointed with this.

I also think the novel does have appeal to new readers, as it’ll definitely introduce you to the world of Lumberjanes if you’ve been looking to read the graphic novels. Overall, I highly recommend this novel and I can’t wait to read the sequel.

  1. I really love books where the female characters have a life and dreams and adventures that do not revolve around a man 🙂 We need more of books like this. And the cover looks so impressive too!
