Top Ten Tuesday: Top Ten 2016 Releases I Meant To Read But Didn’t Get To

Posted January 10, 2017 by Angie in Features & Spotlights / 9 Comments

This week’s TTT topic is the top 2016 releases I meant to read but didn’t, but let’s be real – my list should be basically all of them. I’ve talked about how 2016 was a craptastic reading year for me, and 2016 releases were the true victims. I only read 40 2016 releases, and 4 of them were technically ARCs I read at the end of 2015. The 18 on this list are the only ones I truly regret waiting on though and will be getting to ASAP this year (we will not even discuss how many of these were pre-orders that have just been gathering dust on my shelves because I am a failure).

Firsts by Laurie Elizabeth Flynn
Up to This Pointe by Jennifer Longo
The Girl from Everywhere by Heidi Heilig

Exit, Pursued by a Bear by E.K. Johnston
Wink Poppy Midnight by April Genevieve Tucholke
Jane Steele by Lyndsay Faye

Scarlett Epstein Hates It Here by Anna Breslaw
The Star-Touched Queen by Roshani Chokshi
Suffer Love by Ashley Herring Blake

The Unexpected Everything by Morgan Matson
You Know Me Well by Nina LaCour & David Levithan
And I Darken by Kiersten White

Nevernight by Jay Kristoff
Furthermore by Tahereh Mafi
When the Moon Was Ours by Anna-Marie McLemore

The Sun Is Also a Star by Nicola Yoon
My Sister Rosa by Justine Larbalestier
Of Fire and Stars by Audrey Coulthurst

(Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by The Broke and the Bookish)

Did you read any of these releases last year? Which ones should I prioritize?

  2. I really loved The Sun is Also a Star and You Know Me Well. I can’t even talk about all the 2016 releases I missed this year…….jeez I have too many books!

  3. I loved Up to This Pointe! I feel like it’s a bit under-the-radar, so I definitely think you should read it too and then tell all your friends to read it! I also loved And I Darken and Jane Steele.
