2017 is nearly here and that means it’s time for that age old tradition of making resolutions for the New Year. The only personal resolution I have is to be 100% in charge of my happiness. I don’t want anyone to have the power to make me feel or think anything negative about myself. So….yay personal goals! But when it comes to bookish goals I have one HUGE resolution……

FINISH SERIES!

I know I know. I’m not alone and there’s a challenge for this but for me this is bigger than either of those points. I realized I’m a commitment-phobe  when it comes to series. Even series I love more than all the stars in the sky, I just never finish. And it’s not because I don’t have them or because they haven’t released. Oh no. Most of the series I’ve never finished I own. They’re sitting on my shelves silently judging me…..JUDGING ME.

I know Jessi of Novel Heartbeat does an annual Sequel & Prequels challenge (which is totally fun so you should join when sign ups are up) but I didn’t want to make this just another challenge for myself. I’ve been hardcore failing at challenges and this is more so a “you need to overcome your bullshit and finish these awesome series you freaking own!” kind of thing. So, I’m going to royally embarrass myself and list, every series I own and have started reading but just never finished….I need this to be a 100% judge free zone ok? I’m not proud of what’s about to go down.

  1. I must say O, you have a hell lot of awesome books to look forward to reading in 2017! Many awesome series and books in your list there, so yeah, that’s my take on them! So many awesome books to look forward to reading!

Zero judgement here girl, I do have series that I’ve been meaning to finish since forever and it seems that I’m never in the right mood for them… I’m hoping to get better at that too!

  2. I just want to squish you Pili! Thanks so much for the encouragement! I’m ready to tackle all the books! Series have been my achilles heel and I am so going to fix that! <3

  3. Good luck with your goal! I usually avoid series because I never finish them. I do want to finish V.E. Schwab’s Shades of Magic trilogy. The last book comes out next year. I also want to reread Harry Potter.

  4. I LOVE stand alones but it’s so hard to find them now! Everything is a trilogy or duology or started off as a stand alone but then morph into more. When I find a true stand alone I’m like a kid in a candy store! Good look with your Harry Potter reread! I have it as a goal for sometime this year but who knows!

  5. I am 100% with you on this one. I fear getting to the end of the series and wanting more or it ending in a way I just can’t accept. Good luck with your goal!!!

  6. UGH YESSSSS! This was literally why I didn’t finish Daughter of Smoke and Bone! I get anxious about it ending because I want to see how it’ll end but I also don’t! Thanks for the luck!

  7. Wow, this is an awesome list!! I’m horrible at finishing series too…and 2016 was a KILLER year for me finding new authors and series. I have SO MANY I need to finish or catch up on.
