James Mycroft has just left for London to investigate a car accident similar to the one that killed his parents seven years ago...without saying goodbye to Rachel Watts, his 'partner in crime'.

Rachel is furious and worried about his strange behaviour - not that Mycroft's ever exactly normal, but London is the scene of so many of his nightmares. So Rachel jumps on a plane to follow him...and lands straight in a whole storm of trouble.

The theft of a copy of Shakespeare's First Folio, the possible murder of a rare books conservator, and the deaths of Mycroft's parents...Can Watts help Mycroft make sense of the three events - or will she lose him forever?

Sparks fly when Watts and Mycroft reunite in this second sophisticated thriller about the teen sleuthing duo.

I received a copy of this book from the publisher, this does not influence my thoughts on the book.

I loved Every Breath, the first book in this series and when I saw Every Word on NetGalley, I knew I had to read it. Every Word is just an awesome sequel to an already great series.

Following the events of the first book, Rachel and Mycroft are back to their crime-solving ways, except this time, it’s in London. I loved Rachel and Mycroft. Rachel, as always, is kick-ass and awesome. I loved her smartness even in the face of danger. As usual, Mycroft is back to his clue-solving ways but I love that even though he could carry the duo on his own, Rachel is there to support him.

Ultimately though, Rachel and Mycroft are even better as a couple. They are just so damn adorable and hormonal, it’s awesome. Every time they were in the same room, I was like “okay yes this mystery is nice but now KISS”.

I really enjoyed how the character arcs continued from the first book and how the plot expanded and I can definitely see how it’ll continue onto the next book. I’m so excited to read the sequel, I need it in my hands yesterday.

Overall, Every Word was a fantastic sequel to a thrilling Sherlock-retelling series. I really enjoyed it and I’m so damn excited to read the next book.
