I’m so happy to announce that we’re going to be hosting a diverse month this October! It’s my (Shelly) birthday month and I really can’t think of a better or more awesome way to celebrate than by featuring a lot of diverse books and authors. I want to create an awesome event featuring plenty of voices and I already have tons of unique individuals ready to contribute.

I’m planning guest posts, list posts, author-like posts and tons of giveaways! (Yes, my wallet will be weeping. But that’s okay).

We’ll also be hosting some Twitter chats which I hope we can use to discuss more diverse reads and especially ones that people haven’t heard too much about. Dates for these chats will be announced on the first day, October 1.

We’re hoping to make this event a whole month-long with plenty of different types of posts and features.

Since it’s a bit before October, if you’re a blogger/author wanting to participate, we’d be happy to have you! Any one wanting to participate can email me at Shelly(at)readsleeprepeat(dot)org!

Anywho, we can’t wait for you guys to see what we have in store for you!

  1. Yes, yes, yes, yes, and triple double yes! I will be emailing you. I read my favorite diverse YA book before blogging, so I have not reviewed it on my blog yet. I wanted to review it and have a giveaway of the hardcover with an author signed book plate. I will do this during your Diversity Month. Btw, I am an October baby, too, and share my birthday with Shelly!

  2. I am so proud of you and this event Shelly! I know it will kick butt and to show my support I’m going to dedicate (or at least try) three of my October books to Diversity Month! Love you hun and have fun! :*

    • Thank you! (Btw, I’m working on your post now and just scheduled it for the 6th! I titled it “The romances we’re told to have: a guest post by Tessa” if that works for you! ๐Ÿ˜€

  3. I’m really excited for this, because it sounds like it’s going to be a lot of fun and I’m really glad that books of diversity are finally getting spotlighted the way they should. ๐Ÿ™‚
