Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted at The Broke and The Bookish.

This week’s topic is Top Ten Book Related Problems We Have!

I take out way toooooooo many library books! I don’t get to read all of them and it makes me sad!

I love lending out books to people. What I don’t like is not having them returned to me!

I hate having messy shelves! My shelves NEED to be organized at all times!

And don’t even get me started on shipping in Canada! I want to host ALL THE GIVEAWAYS but damn, it’s so expensive!

I forget I own a book and buy duplicates. I KNOW I’M NOT ALONE!

I obsess over how to organize my shelves. Should I do alphabetical order by title? Author? Paperback? Hardback? Mass paperback? Where should signed books go? How about ARCs? I HAVE A PROBLEM!

I honestly have no more space for books (until I move) and yet I KEEP BUYING THEM!

Sometimes I just stare at the spines of my books….it makes me happy. DON’T YOU DARE JUDGE ME!O-Sign RSR 2.0.2

  1. Shelley, I also hate when books aren’t returned to me despite liking to lend them to people. Often I’ll forget who I lent it too and then get really mad at myself! And Octavia, I like staring at the spines of my books too! And your concerns about how to organize your selves has made me realize how problematic it is that I buy different additions to books because then they aren’t shelved together!

  2. Book Outlet has made it much easier for me to mess up and buy duplicates. It’s happened at least three times over the last few months.

I take out lots of books from the library, too. I’m pretty good at getting them read. I actually place more priority on my library books than I do on my ARC’s or the books that I buy. This is primarily because I make heavy use of my library’s reserve system, so most of the books I get are brand new. I would much rather read library books in that condition than I would after a bunch of strangers have put their dirty paws all over them. 🙂

  3. Lol! I can totally relate, especially with Octavia’s happiness by staring the spine of her books. I like that too! So my shelves are strategically located so I can watch them from afar. My dad also has the problem where he buys stuff he already owns and doesn’t know it. Once I had to tell him he bought a graphic novel he already owned (having read his entire collection) and he couldn’t remember it at all.
