2015 goals

Happy New Year! I’ve seen plenty of people share their resolutions/goals and I wanted to do something similar. These goals are both bookish and non-bookish, random and probably not so random!

Carry a pen with me everywhere. I get ideas all the time- for new posts, for writing, even for class projects. But the problem is, I can never remember some of these ideas. I actually don’t carry my phone everywhere with me (*cue gasp*) so I want to start carrying a pen on me at all times, and just scribble down my ideas wherever I can- on my hand, on a loose sheet of paper, etc.

Work on my writing.  Last year, I finished a NaNo project that I’ve been working on since the summer. I am in love with the concept (not sure about how it turned out) and the response I’ve been getting from friends is just overwhelming. I want to finish editing the project and hopefully turn it into an actual Book, or something. I don’t know, really. All I know is that I want to stay in that world, and edit the story. Oh and I want to start a new project for NaNoWriMo this November again.

Write more personal posts.  I mentioned this on our survey this year, and I want to start writing more personal posts. I love this blog but I feel like it’s hard to see ‘me’ only through the reviews I write. I’m not sure how many personal posts I’ll write, but I can try to add more ME to the blog.

Reach out to more publishers/authors.  I am really active on Twitter, but I usually stay behind and never really put in my input. I want to connect with more authors and join the community more. I also want to start emailing more requests to publishers. I feel like there are so many more publishers I want to reach out to, but I’m also so scared of rejection. I need to avoid being scared, and just go for it.

Focus on older releases/owned books.  I bought A TON of books last year and damn, I really need to start reading those! In addition to some ARCs, I want to focus on books I own vs. borrowing too many at the library. I want to make sure that I read majority of the books I buy, and that my money doesn’t go to waste.
