ARC August 2015

Hey guys, the 2nd week of August is wrapping up so I thought I’d recap what I’ve read over the past couple of days. I haven’t read a single ARC (woops) but I did try and get through some library books and graphic novels. I didn’t read the first about 3 days of the week because I was supposed to be reading Lirael/Abhorsen but I just could not get into those novels. I’ve returned them to the library & will probably take them out again when I feel like reading them, I’ve just been in a contemporary mood lately.

Books Read:

Lola and the Boy Next Door (Anna and the French Kiss, #2) Isla and the Happily Ever After (Anna and the French Kiss, #3) The Summer I Turned Pretty (Summer, #1) The Book of Blood and Shadow Star Trek: The Next Generation/Doctor Who: Assimilation 2 Scott Pilgrim's Precious Little Life (Scott Pilgrim, #1) Saga, Volume 1 Saga, Volume 2

Note: I won’t be discussing the graphic novels other than to say that if you like Star Trek & Doctor Who, check out the assimilation comic and that if you like any comics whatsoever, READ SAGA, IT IS SOOOOOOO GOOD!

Lola and the Boy Next Door by Stephanie Perkins ★★★★
Owned Paperback
I actually like this one more now that I re-read it, I could connect better to the characters and the story.

Isla and the Happily Ever After by Stephanie Perkins ★★★★★
Purchased Hardback

The Summer I Turned Pretty by Jenny Han ★★★
Library
Gahh the love triangle pissed me off SOOOO MUCH! I hope that the romance/characters develop over the course of the trilogy because I hated how this ended, HATED.

The Book of Blood and Shadow ★★★★
Library
This one came highly recommended through my close friend and several bloggers so I decided to give it a go. It was a good story and I enjoyed it but damn, this book was LLOOOONNGGGGGGG

*Next week: I plan to finish my 3 remaining library books & get started on some ARCs, I have a ton!

  1. I finished Nest, the fourth book I started at the end of week one, and started Dash by Kirby Larsen a MG about the US Japanese internment camps during WW II. I had a surprise #5 because I opened the NetG document for a word origins ARC, just to take a quick look see, but the logophile in me grabbed hold and I devoured it in two sittings!! So at the rnd of week two I am at 5 and 1 1/2.

  2. Well, I have found a new pleasure in reading on my iPad since I can read whenever I want and take it with me anywhere, so I’ve actually managed to read 10 eArcs so far this month, yay! ^^
