Organize Your Blog pt. 3!

Welcome back to Read. Sleep. Repeat.’s Tips & Tricks: Organization, lovelies! I hope you all have your schedules dreamed up and the Ultimate Book Blogger plugin installed because this week we are jumping into the hard stuff! What could be harder than making a realistic schedule outline, you ask?

Knocking out those meme’s, discussions and tours!

Now of course of the three mentioned above tours will be the easiest….maybe but there is STILL work involved!

When I’m going through the torturous process of scheduling my post, meme’s, discussions and tours are the first things I tackle. For three really good (to me) reasons.

  1. It makes my calendar look less depressing
  2. They are EASY to do in advance
  3. They aren’t as time consuming to draft up as reviews.

Not bad reasons right? What I suggest is pulling out your planner, looking at the “month at a glance” section and determining just how many WoW/TTT/Showcase Sunday post you have to prep. For instance, if there are 4 Wednesday’s this month instead of 5 go through and pick 4 books to feature on Waiting on Wednesday. Drop by The Broke and The Bookish and see what Top Ten list you’ll be making for the month. Triple check your email for any tour reminders you may have missed. Then take all this information and start filling it in on that pretty calendar with your pencil. As you go through and draft these post take that ONE highlighter (told you I’d explain!) and highlight the ones that are completed and scheduled. Now your calendar just became a checklist too! See the big picture? You get a full view of what you “want” to post vs what you have ready to go.  And the cool part? If you decide that you rather post something else, all you have to do is erase and replace! So, this week I want you guys to look at January (a clean slate!)  and get to work on those meme’s, discussions and tours. Tweet me pics of your progress, leave your thoughts in the comments, whatever it takes to stay engaged!

Next week we’ll look at drafting reviews and the big no no I do anyway. Bah bah BAAAHHHHH!
