For the month of November Stop & Chat will be a week-long discussion, including some post by my fantabulous blogger friends. It will always start with my post on Saturday though. 🙂

My 1st Review!

Let’s take a stroll down memory lane! The date is November 18th, 2012. The completely naive, under experienced and absolutely horrible book “reviewer” Octavia, has just hit “publish” on her very first blog review, Wicked Nights by Gena Showalter. It was short. It was random. It had typos (which I still haven’t fixed!). And above all it barely covered the damn book.

I won’t paste the entire review here but, here is a snippet of my embarrassment:

Apparently I am one of the few people who have not read Gena’s Lords of the Underworld series, and after reading Wicked Nights I can see that I have completely deprived myself of here genius. Zacharel was one of those creamsicle popsicles I use to love as a kid. Hard and cold on the outside but soft and extra sweet on the inside, and I loved him about as much as I did those popsicles as a kid. If only it was possible to see if he tasted just a good. Yep I definitely had that kind of relationship with Zacharel. If you just cringed at my completely appropriate suggestion to a fictional character, you read the book and tell me Zacharel didn’t leave you a little hot and bothered.

What is it about Zacharel that just made him oh so delicious? Let’s review:

  1. He is honest to a fault.
  2. He is bad ass with a FLAMING sword. Yep that’s right the sword is on fire.
  3. He knows what he wants and works to get that.
  4.  He is surface of the sun hot.

Does this make me shallow? Weak? Sex-craved? Maybe. Do I care? Nope, not one bit. But since you seem to care let me explain.

Box of Shame

See! I wasn’t always as awesome as I am now!

And this brings me to today’s discussion questions! Do you ever go back and cringe over some of your earlier reviews? If you could go back in time to 1 minute before you hit that “publish” button what would you tell yourself? If you’re feeling extra brave today link up your first review in the comments!

I know you didn’t think I was going to kick off my blogoversary without a giveaway?!

So the absolutely FABULOUS A.G. Howard was  a tad busy bringing more of my Morpheus to the world, so I couldn’t interview her. BUT! Oh and this but is magnificent in all of it’s ginormous glory. BUT! (yeah I had to say it again!) She showed her epic level of awesome and donated one SIGNED, paperback copy, of her limited FLIP BOOK edition of  Splintered/ Unhinged! That’s right folks! One of you lucky, and I do mean LUCKY, individuals is going to win this beauty!

*NOTE!*

This flip book edition has the FIRST CHAPTER of Unhinged. It is NOT. Again, IT IS NOT, two books in one. Also, no cheating! I shouldn’t have to say that but apparently I do.
