“Find Me.”

These are the words written on Tessa Waye’s diary. The diary that ends up with Wick Tate. But Tessa’s just been found . . . dead.

Wick has the right computer-hacking skills for the job, but little interest in this perverse game of hide-and-seek. Until her sister Lily is the next target.

Then Griff, trailer-park boy next door and fellow hacker, shows up, intent on helping Wick. Is a happy ending possible with the threat of Wick’s deadbeat dad returning, the detective hunting him sniffing around Wick instead, and a killer taunting her at every step?

Foster child. Daughter of a felon. Loner hacker girl. Wick has a bad attitude and sarcasm to spare.

But she’s going to find this killer no matter what.

Because it just got personal.

You know I was starting to think I was broken. That there was something absolutely wrong with my brain. I mean, I’ve read 3 books lately that the whole bookish community has pretty much lined up to sell their granny’s for and all I’ve felt was, “meh”. That has to mean something was wrong with me right? Well sort of. You see, it wasn’t that I am broken, it’s that I was craving something new and different! Something that would literally knock my socks off and do evil, yet wonderful, things to my mind. Find Me did that.

It takes A LOT for me to be surprised when reading a mystery. I’m that person at the movies who sits down for 5 minutes points out one character and walks away for the rest, just to be told later I was right. I’m that super annoying friend that will flip through the first few pages of a book, say “I beat it’s that guy!”, and turn out to be absolutely right! So, I’m sure you can guess how many metaphorical, “FINALLY” were dropped on my head when Find Me not only threw me off the trail of our real monster, but twisted and turned throughout the entire book.

I’m going to be honest with you, the first 5% was a easy 4.5 stars. The story gripped me from the first page and I had an instant connection to these characters! I wanted to know not only who Wicket & Lily were, I wanted to know where they came from? What happened to make Wick so cold? Why there was a possible dirty cop in our mist! I wanted it all from these two ladies all before the 5% mark. But then something shifted. I started to tire of Wicked (as she shall forever be called!) constantly berating herself. I wanted her to be strong and see that she really was an amazing, nice, smart and beautiful girl. I know, that she had to grow into that frame of mind, but I wouldn’t have been upset if she grew just a tad faster than a snail racing molasses up a hill. I live for character growth and development! It’s the one thing that truly sets a book apart from others to me. And Find Me had it….just at a pace that was too slow for me. Then, everything shifted again. I started to gain interest in the story again, not as engrossed as those first few pages but I was digging it again. I was figuring out who does what and who’s working for who and all this awesome Nancy Drew type stuff. I started guessing about Griff (our swoon worthy love interest). I guessed about Lauren. I guessed about Todd and Mr. Mayes! I guessed about the darn nurse! And while I was right on some points (no I’m not telling!) and wrong on others (the nurse was a dead end), I really started to find my groove.

I remember the exact moment that Find Me went from enjoyable suspense filled mystery to

“OH MY GOSH! WHAT JUST HAPPENED!! MUST. READ. ALL. THE. PAGES!!!

She threw me! She threw me so hard I actually paced when I finished the last 10 pages! I was so fidgety and anxious! I was so wrong about the bad guy that when he was revealed I had to read that paragraph TWICE! I love that Romily was able to not only keep me engaged, guessing, anxious and on top of all that surprised! After the “meh” rut I’ve been in lately Find Me was the perfect way to get my head back on straight. I’m so happy I was able to join the tour for it, and now I’m going to shake my tiny fist and demand that you read it ASAP.
